Connected by Louis Koo and Barbie Hsu

Just watched this movie yesterday. At first I feel it quite weird because the main actress Barbie Hsu speaks Mandarin in the movie while the main actor Louis Koo speaks Cantonese. Since the story line does explain that Barbie Hsu is a lady from China. Therefore, I've accepted it. :P

The story is quite excited starting from the very beginning till the end of the movie. However, you will find this movie very familiar if you did watch a Hollywood movie Cellular back in the 2004 - 2005 time. I think Connected is a HK version of Cellular and Connected is aired on 2008.

Surprisingly, it also has Nick Cheung acted in the show. I really didn't aware of it. Hehehehe.. Didn't really notice on the poster previously till this movie was being mentioned in the 28th Hong Kong Film Award that gets Barbie Hsu a place in the best Actress nomination list.

Here is a short synopsis from Wikipedia

Bob’s life isn’t going well at all. A single father in a dead-end job as a debt collector, he’s trapped in a job that goes against his usual easy-going helpful nature and he’s under tremendous pressure to be a better dad, a better brother, a better worker, even a better person. While dealing with all this and his sister’s threat to move to China with his son to force him to clean up his act, Bob receives a call out of the blue.

It’s a stranger called Grace who claims a mysterious kidnapper is keeping her against her will and begs him to save her and her young daughter. Is it just a prank? The detective he tried reporting the call to seem to think so but Bob’s instincts tell him that he may just be the only thing standing between them and a painful death. But does he have the mettle to rise above his own self-centered concerns and risk everything – including his own son – for two people he has never met and who may not even exist?

P/S: Anyway, can't really rate it yet as I've been called out for dinner at the ending of the movie. Darn... :(
